Closing!!

Sooooo.....Ant and I closed on our house last Wednesday!!!  We are officially home owners, and could not be more excited! I could (and probably will) talk about the home buying process a lot more in the future....But for now I'm entirely too excited to introduce you to our new home!

These pictures were taken when we first came to see the house with our realtor. First of all... How cute is it?? This adorable house stood out to us before seeing it because it was a cape, and different than so many of the cookie cutter houses we had seen. We had seen it online previously but put off going to visit it for awhile, to be honest, because it looks adorable...aka, in my opinion, small. But when our realtor added it to our list one day...we figured why not!

We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in the front door!! How gorgeous are those pegged hardwood looks? And the built ins?? The downstairs has a very open floor plan...with a beautifully updated kitchen at the back of the house.

The previous owners had added a second bathroom, making it the three bedroom two bath combo we were looking for, while leaving some of the original touches that gave the house charm (stone fireplace, stairs, etc...)

Fast forward three months, SO much paperwork, and the biggest check we've ever signed in our lives, and here we are!!! September 11, 2013 we signed our mortgage, and tada! Keys to the house.

After finishing all the paperwork, we decided to go over to the house to celebrate with a picnic and prepare for moving day with some cleaning! Here is Ant excited to enter the house for the first time!

We reused our glasses from our engagement session to celebrate :)

We went back to the apartment pretty early, because early the next AM was moving day!! (We wasted no time)... Luckily, the new house is only 4 miles from our apartment, which made moving WAY manageable. My mom wasn't feeling great which was a bummer, but my dad showed up bright and early with both the truck AND the 18 ft trailer, ready to go!

The first load of furniture!

Safety first! We buckled the big TV up in the backseat for our first trip.

We had barely moved our first box in when the guy from the realtors office came by and took down the for sale sign! (Yes, I creeped a pic through the window)

In addition to my dad with the truck, my sister Ally and Ants parents all come down to help!! We put everyone to work and they could not have been more helpful!  We were able to move almost everything in one day (3 truck/trailer loads, 4 carloads, and one trip to Ants parent house for a mattress!) Now that everything is IN the house we just have to start the long process of unpacking, and the exciting process of making our house a home!

.....I'll keep you posted :)
